I hate to brag, but we have had three of the most beautiful days, weatherwise. As the Husband wondered, “What did we do to deserve two beautiful weekend days in a row?” What, indeed! Saturday, I was still susupicious, but by Sunday I knew that we had turned the corner. The bikers were out! Both kinds! I was thinking of my friend all weekend and hoping that she had the time to ride her shiney new bike in the warm sunshine!
The only problem with the weather was that this was our Spring Scrap Camp weekend. Ususally, at this time of year, I have no problem spending 48 hours while my ass bonds with the fake leather on the chair, but this year I was constantly distracted. The birds and the peeper frogs and the squirrels and the sunshine. I found myself looking for any excuse to leave my pasting post and go…out.
Also, for some reason, I used a lot of the weekend to catch up on some much needed shut-eye. I slept well Friday night, but didn’t feel well after lunch, so decided to lie down for a minute. My friend woke me just in time to get dinner! Whatever it was, my body thought I needed a four-hour nap and it felt really good to take one. (And I slept well Saturday night, too! Usually, I sleep quite poorly at camp on those tiny tot beds.)
Saturday night, I went AWOL again to accompany my friend to her required Bingo duties. Another camper and I tagged along and had a blast being entertained by the regulars while our friend worked. Afterward we stopped to gather everyone’s adult beverage orders and I felt about 20 years old giggling through the store.
Sunday, again, I just couldn’t stand being cooped up so I took a walk and then jumped in the truck to get a coke. I took the long way. The real long way.
I’m not sure if I was uninspired or if I was just tired from…oh, everything. I was especially surprised by how tired I was Saturday, considering my Dr. gave me another B-12 shot right before I left for camp. I’m pretty sure I was just likeing being there, where no one needed anything from me. I had one project I needed to get done this weekend - something I was doing for a friend - and I finished it before breakfast on Saturday. Once that was done, I really didn’t have a lot I wanted to do.
My body tends to respond to camp by puffing up, too. I came home with feet so swollen they looked like Fred Flintstone’s. Between the (seriously) uncomfortable chairs and the sodium-laden cafeteria-type food, I don’t stand a chance. I always come home feeling like I’ve been poisoning myself all weekend. Which is what I’ve been doing, I guess.
But I so enjoy the company of these ladies and the laughter and the massage (Whoo!). It’s something I hope I always get a chance to do.

Very glad you got a massage! Riding my bike is messing with my sleep I think. Haven’t slept well at all the last couple of days, but I did ride, and it was good.
